THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Created and Written by Jim Tippins

The classic poem "T'was the Night Before Christmas" is a secular poem featuring Santa and his exploits on Christmas Eve. Another poem, "T'was the Night Before Jesus Came" tells the story of the second coming of Jesus and has no connection to the birth narrative. I felt that the poem needed a retelling, this time with the birth of Jesus being the central theme. Below, are two of the lines of this wonderful poem.

'Twas the night before Christmas

 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the inn
Not a room could be found, without or within;

The travelers were tired from their journey with care,
In hopes that their baby soon would be there;
