Oberammergau Passion Play Adventure

We are sponsoring a trip in the early fall of 2010 to the Oberammergau Passion Play. Click to check out details about this Passion Play event. Our trip will originate in New York City and the following itinerary is as accurate as possible without having the reservations in hand. Pray that we can find a travel agent who can give us the best price possible.

OPTIONAL DAY  - Meet in NYC, relax, go to a Broadway musical that night.

DAY 1 - The group meets at JFK International Airport where we will hop onboard for our flight to Paris. (If we leave around 10 am, add 5 hours to the 6 hour flight. It would be 9 pm when we arrived. Transfer to hotel for the evening.

DAY 2  - Tour Paris (Eiffel Tower, Cathedrale de Notre-dame Charters, Musee du Louvre, Champs Elysees, Possibly to Montmartre' or the Museum of Impressionists. Evening in Paris.

DAY 3  - This morning we will have an optional tour of the Palace at Verssales. For those going to Versailles, the afternoon is free. For those not going on the optional tour, the day is free in Paris. Enjoy the city. Go to Disneyland Paris, go to Chateau de Versailles, shop at the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps departmental stores. Enjoy. Meet for dinner at hotel. Evening in Paris.

DAY 4   - Early morning. Transfer to bus and travel to Reims, the beautiful city of King coronation (1 hr 3 min) Then to the Rhine River (35 min) where we will embark on a 2-3 hour cruise from Bopperd to Koblenz. Transfer to our bus and head to Das Rheinfels Castle (38 min) (Above St. Goar) where we will eat dinner and spend the night in our own Medieval Castle.

DAY 5   - Travel by bus to Oberammergau, Germany (5 hours). We will spend the afternoon enjoying our spa hotel and the quaint village with their crafts, clocks, and steins. Overnight in Oberammergau.

DAY 6 - Enjoy the world famous Oberammergau Passion Play, enacted every ten years since the early 1300's. Incredible. Evening at Oberammergau. (Minimum 2 night stay mandatory)

DAY 7  - Transfer to Munich where some will fly back home to friends and family. Short trip but fun filled with lots of memories. Those who wish to are invited to an extended itinerary. This day will include getting our friends on the plane to home, then we will transport to Venice (4 hrs 42 min). Overnight in Venice.

DAY 8   - Sightsee in Venice. Enjoy the morning and early afternoon. Transfer by bus to Florence (3 hrs 35 min), Italy. Over night in Florence.

DAY 9   - Enjoy the religious masterpieces in the beautiful city of Florence. Take off in late afternoon to Rome (2 hrs 50 min). Overnight in Rome.

DAY 10  - A full day touring of Rome. St. Peter’s Basilica, plus the excavations beneath St. Peter’s, The Vatican, the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, The Roman Forum, Mamertine Prison. (If possible we would love to include the Catacombs) A full day then overnight in Rome.

DAY 11 – A free day in Rome. Enjoy your last day to enjoy the sights.

DAY 12  - Depart from Rome to head home with great memories.
